  • Courtney A. Kovacs was 22 years old when she was killed in a three-vehicle crash that happened on U.S. 250 near Smyser Road in Wayne County. The accident happened around 10:19 pm when a 2007 Honda Pilot driven by Michalski was traveling west on U.S. 250. The vehicle crossed into the opposite lane and hit a 2014 Ford Focus that was traveling east and driven by Kovacs. After the crash, the Ford Focus went off the right side of the road. The Honda Pilot spun around and was then hit by a 2008 Acura RDX driven by Brown, who was also traveling east. The roadways of US-250 were closed for approximately 4 hours due to the accident. The police do not believe that alcohol and drugs were part of this accident.
