Deputy Suzanne Hopper at Dwight D. Eisenhower Hwy Fairborn, Ohio

Deputy Suzanne Hopper was 40 years old when she was fatally shot on Jan 1 2011 by a mentally ill person Michael Ferryman. Hopper was responding to a call near Enon Beach Campground when she was killed. After 10 years of her murder, the police still remember her. At her funeral, thousands of law enforcement officers from across the country drove a 1,600-vehicle procession through Clark County and stood in heavy snowfall as she was laid to rest.
