Mia Stevens was 22 years old when she lost her life after her car crashed into a semi on the interstate at the 326-mile marker, near the County Road 11A exit. The Indiana police said in a statement that a lane was closed due to bridge work, and Mia failed to notice the stop traffic early enough. She abruptly switched the passing lane into the driving lane. In doing so, the rear of her car struck the semitractor-trailer, which was stopped in the driving lane. Mia died at the scene while the passenger of her car, 22-year-old Meghan Houston, was taken to the hospital in critical condition. High speed played a major role in this accident.
